Biography

Leonard Harlan is a general partner of Harlan Capital Partners. He has more than 50 years of experience in private equity, real estate finance and development, and investment banking. Prior to joining his son, Josh, as a general partner, Mr. Harlan co-founded Castle Harlan, Inc., a middle market buyout firm and previously founded The Harlan Company, which engaged in real estate finance and development. He also co-founded CHAMP, Castle Harlan’s Australian affiliate.

He received his BA in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA with distinction, as well as a doctorate, from Harvard Business School.

He is a life member of the Board of Fellows of the Weill Cornell Medical College and member of Business Executives for National Security (BENS). He is additionally a member of the Board of Governors of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the Board of Advisors of Jacobs Institute of Cornell Tech.
