Biography

Dan Donahue is an Operating Partner at Harlan Capital Partners. He works alongside the firm’s investment team in sourcing, evaluating, and structuring opportunities across media, sports, and intellectual property, and supports portfolio company management teams on strategic positioning, operational execution, and rights optimization. 
 
Mr. Donahue brings more than three decades of experience operating within the global media and entertainment ecosystem. He previously served as Partner and Chief Operating Officer of ICM, one of Hollywood’s leading talent, sports, and literary agencies. In that role, he oversaw core business operations across film, television, publishing, music, sports, and digital media, with deep exposure to rights-driven transactions and long-cycle content monetization. He co-led the landmark sale of ICM to Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the world’s largest talent agency, in a transformative industry transaction.
 
Earlier in his career, Mr. Donahue held senior leadership roles across the entertainment industry, advising on strategic transactions and working closely with content owners, artists, and corporate partners. His experience spans talent representation, agency operations, media advisory, and complex intellectual property transactions.
 
Mr. Donahue received his BA from Harvard College and his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
